ReplyDeleteHandwork was always my mother's forte, but not so cmuch mine. In fact, hand seing is my nemisis. So no nothing is handstitched this year. However, I hav challenged myself and have a Christmas redwork pattern I plan to do (lunchtime Stitch & Bitch at work)in an attempt to conquer this.

I try to give only handmade gifts at Christmas. This year I made about 30 jars of jam and fruit butters to give away, but I'm also doing some sewing. I'm making a purse for my grandmother, an infinity scarf for my sister, and some yet-to-be-determined stuffed toys for my niece and nephew.

I'm sewing for myself this year. Doesn't that sound terrible?! Last year I was so busy sewing for other people it was too stressful & then when you see they don't use the gifts, disappointing.

Most of the christmas gifts I am giving this year are hand knit or embroidered. I am giving a pair of handmade animal ears to my neice and nephew. I'm hopeing to get some crafting in for my kids and hubby on the sly once the gifts I have been working on have been given and we are back home. :)
ReplyDeleteMy list this year seems to be never ending! I'm finishing up a quilt, and I have several pairs of pajama pants on there as well as an ipod case and a nook cover. I'm also stretching my creative wings and making a fold room divider screen, oh boy...
ReplyDeleteI've sewn a LOT of gifts this year...some clothing, toys, aprons and potholders...and am almost finished with a quilt for my oldest. Whether it gets done in time for the 25th is another question entirely!

ReplyDeleteI am making a set of items for my nephew- a rag quilt (he informed me that the one I made when he was a baby no longer covers his feet....he is five now), a matching quilt for his bear and a coordinating pillow case. I am also working on a baby quilt for his soon to arrive sister. However, luckily she isn't due until February-I don't think that quilt will be done before Christmas!
